I got a new CyberTruck
Переглядів 1273 місяці тому
For realz! . . . . Joking aside, it's a 1:18 scale CyberTruck from Tesla's website. And It's crazy expensive at $225 tax for a diecast toy! But I thought it would be kind of cool to have one as a collectors item since they were so hard to get. So when the email came out the 2nd batch was available I ordered immediately. They sold out the next day! So I don't know if they sold out in minutes or ...
Car Stopped In Middle Of Highway

This car was stopped in the right lane on the highway (75 MPH speed limit) . Luckily I was paying attention and noticed I was closing on the car extremely fast. I'm not sure if I handled the entire situation perfectly but overall I'm happy with how I dealt with the situation. I don't know why the car was stopped there. I don't know why the guy was yelling. This video is for educational purposes...

Sorry about all the ads, I have it set so it only shows skippable ads but YT sure does seem to pack in a lot of ads these days. If you notice my voice change it's because I got sick half way through the voice-over and didn't feel like waiting another week or more to finish it.

Only video I got from the Sand Hollow trip. Going down is pretty easy, just a little scraping with a 4 door. Looks like nothing on video but it feels very steep in real life. Going up is much more difficult and you have to know the correct line. I didn't even know this was a named obstacle until later.

This is the insta 360 X3. Audio is from the camera. No color grading, this is straight out of the camera. Shots were framed using the insta 360 software, it's really simple to use. Voice is very faint because it's the camera mic, but I plan to use the recorder mounted on my helmet to capture my voice and mix it in later in post.

You can easily fix older versions from crashing. Just open Vegas, go to Options, then hold down shift and click on preferences. Go to the Internals tab (upper right). Search for "avc" and set "Enable So4 Compound Reader for AVC/MT2S" to False. I've not had a single crash since changing this long ago. The only downside to this fix is Vegas can't read 10-bit media with it disabled but you'll eliminate 99% of your crashes. Vegas 21 is a lot more stable out of the box but the upgrade isn't cheap.

Watched this video for the 3rd time now. Last weekend I ended up in a comparable situation with my Yamaha Tenere. It was my first offroad experience on that bike and also became stuck in the mud. I was so exhausted and overwhelmed about the difficulty to get it out… Really frightened me… I think I will not drive solo on muddy terrain anymore. This video is such a good example of how unpredicatable a situation is and can become. In the beginning it does not look that bad, however when time (and energy) passes it really gets bad.. Actually this could be really dangerous if riding solo.. If you carry for example 1 liter water, only digging it out takes at least that amount of water not to get dehydrated. Let alone then having to walk dozens of kilometers in the heat to get back to civilization.... Could be life threatening! Such a good example video that really changed my mind! Thanks for uploading this. Definitely will share this with my riding friends to give an understanding about possible dangers that does not look risky at the beginning… Real life nightmare! Great that you got it out in the end. Drive safe and thanks for uploading this masterpiece!

Honestly I will rather spend a couple of days learning DaVinci Resolve than spend any more of my time editing in that completely bullshit laggy vegas, I have been using vegas for over 8 years, there wasnt a day where I wouldnt have problems, crashes, lagging, something not working, mov files randomly turning black + I could never watch the preview smoothly even if I switched it to Draft(quarter), it would always be laggy no mather what, I have got a pretty good pc (gtx1060, i7, 16gb ram) but still the vegas acted like I got some shitty laptop. I love the interface and the features, but they just cant make it work properly with any version, idk why. I had enough, definitely switching, I would rather edit my videos with scissors like old films than to use vegas one more second.

Where are you guys from? If you're from outside of this Vegas area, yes the terrain and these roads really suck and are not fun at all. But after you live here for a while you realize that's just the way it is and you can't change it. Also that is just a dirt road trucks and looks like even some cars could go down it. But all it takes is one funky section in more than a few inches long to make a bike go down if you're not paying attention

Lowly, I am a new rider but have always wanted to do this trip. As of this writing, it is only about 5 days or so away. Just purchased a new-to-me Yamaha 250 dual sport, but everyone I reached out to have said not to do the ride because of experience. Can you share exactly what it is about this ride that causes so many to recommend against taking the ride? I have the equipment. I am physically fit. I have turned wrenches on cars since I was 17 yrs old, so I imagine I can change a flat on a motorcycle. Questions: #1) Do you think a novice could get through this ride especially if taking the easy routes? #2) Any suggestions on how I go about finding or forming a group to ride together? My friends have Harleys and so I am a single. Would love to hook up with a group of 2 or 3 people who also want to form a group. Have gone to facebook looking for other riders, but no joy. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I think the sand is what causes new riders the most problems. Depending on the route it varies from a lot of sand to, a LOT of sand. Even the easy sections can have a decent amount of sand. So if you can do ok in the sand and you are in decent shape you should be fine. Some “hard” sections are worth taking. Rock gap road, Calico canyon, last chance canyon ETC. But only Rocky Gap Road is always on the route but the route leading up to it changes. You just need to study the map the night before and have a plan. What hard sections you are going to try and where to bail if you need to. No shame in taking some “easy” sections to make up some time or get a head start before tackling a hard section. The idea is to have fun and have an experience to laugh about years later. That’s why even failing miserably as long as nobody gets seriously injured is kind of part of the experience. Anyway. Have fun. I can’t make it this year so make a good video.

@@lowlypawn Hey man, thanks for the info. Much appreciated. As I was thinking about it, perhaps I will simply start my journey on day 2 from Barstow to Vegas. This might be a way to have the experience without having to endure two days, even though I think it would be fine. I have seen many videos of people taking the trip. What I can say is that I may not be the best shape, most high tech bike, etc, but I am rarely, if ever the worst person or last place in anything I do. SO, out of 500 people doing the trip, even inexperienced, I will be better than many of the riders. I am going to try and find a way to get there. Any ideas on how to find other single riders other than Facebook?

    • @lowlypawn
      @lowlypawn 8 місяців тому

Try the District 37 forums to find a riding buddy but its going to be hard last minute. I see solo riders during the event so ask around and that may be another way to find someone or a group to ride with. The main issue is finding riders who ride at the same pace. If you have ever ridden with a really good rider it’s almost impossible to keep up with, even thou they are just riding at a comfortable pace. And if you are riding at your limit to keep up you will likely crash. During the event you will likely come across a solo rider who is riding at your pace. Next time they stop ask if you can tag along, so that might work. But being solo has its advantages. No dust a lot of the time. It’s just you riding at your pace so crashing chance is minimal. If you know how to use the GPS good and set up the routes the night before, hide the sections you don’t want to take, color code the other routes. Only display the info you need and hide the rest. Learning to use the GPS well could be a 2 hour video. But the more you use it the better you will get. Good luck.

To fix sony vegas crashes or at least to reduce by 95%, you have to transcode your video from compressed codec like x264 to an intermediate codec like apple pro res 422 BEFORE you start editing. You'll fix a lot of crashes and you'll have zero lag. Codec like x264 are not meant to be the best to editing but just to be smaller in size. On the other side with intermediate codec you'll get MASSIVE file sizes, but a very good edit experience. I was almost forgetting to say that: for video editing this is like night and day, i can assure you.

I'm sorry, but you can't judge such complex software like DaVinci Resolve after a few days. I also switched over a year ago and haven't regretted it for a day, because there are so many more ways to import clips than in this video been shown, and the many filter options in the Media Pool and the much better clarity in the Color Tab were not discussed at all, and there is a lot more that was not mentioned and that offers clear advantages, I don't never want to switch to another NLE . Fortunately, what was mentioned and what has impressed me again and again from day one is the incredible stability and performance with all effects.I hope you're having a lot of fun with Davinci resolve by now and I apologize for my bad English. @lowlypawn 9 місяців тому

The insta 360 was mounted to a shoulder mount attached to my camelback. Yes that's a push to talk button. It's not a perfect solution. The button needs to be in the exact right position or it gets in the way, or you accidently push it, or you can't push it. But I think if I attached it to my glove, in the perfect position it could be a pretty good solution.

I really like Davinci, I'm currently using DR 18 pro. Mostly for the voice isolation in the pro version, it's really good. Plus I wanted to play with all the other cool pro features. I purchased the speed editor for the license, but getting good at using the speed editor is going to take some serious practice and commitment, but that's a whole nother topic. I can do basic edits without thinking. If I want to get fancy I can follow some tutorials. I've made a few cheat sheets for some stuff I use like audio ducking. Davinci (all versions) has been fast and stable. I just think about making the video and not if the program is going to crash. I'm still a noob with Davinci but that's because the program is so incredibly powerful, just becoming competent in color grading or fusion can take a very long time. To wrap this up, switching to Davinci was a great decision and I've never looked back. Haven't fired up Vegas even once since I committed to Davinci. I just hope in the future Black Magic doesn't get too arrogant and let their product slip or start a subscription pay model. Thanks.
